NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert: Esperanza Spalding Video

The bassist and vocalist Esperanza Spalding conceived of Chamber Music Society as an intimate experience, a close musical exchange between a small group of friends. If it was intimacy she wanted, she got her wish: Performing three songs in the constraints of Bob Boilen's workspace ensures that all of her supporting players were nice and cozy.

Set List:

"Little Fly"
"Midnight Sun"
"Apple Blossom"

Bass chops need work but she just started. The second song is out there (bass line and melody where definitely in different dimensions) and it worked wonderfully. Also maybe the bass is not set up for her (strings , height maybe even the size). I have seen her a couple of times. I am a bass player. Not dissing her but we all improve as artists. Voice - I respect. Hair who cares. She? is beautiful.
